OVERVIEW

Crown' s Com-Tech 10 Series amplifiers are designed from the ground up exclusively for the professional sound contractor, They provide powerful features, flexibility and the best long-term value in commercial audio today. Each Com-Tech amp is backed by the best support in the business including Crown's exclusive Three Year No-Fault Warranty and Com-Tech Installation Protection Plan. In a profession where unplanned service calls quickly wipe out profits, Com-Tech 10 Series is designed to be the most reliable amplifier you can install.

Com-Tech amplifiers give you more options for delivering their massive power than any other amp. First, we start with separate high-voltage power supplies for each channel, allowing you to determine how to best configure your amp. For example, you may want to run one channel for 70 volts and use the other to drive a 4- or 8-ohm load. Whatever you choose, a simple flip of a switch quickly reconfigures your amplifier.

All Com-Techs feature a multi-impedance shift design that permits constant 70V output without the need for expensive, distortion-causing output transformers. This means your installations will take less time, cost less money and sound better. For long cable runs, Com-Techs can also be configured in a 140V Bridge-Mono mode which can help reduce your wiring costs.

PIP™ (Programmable Input Processor) expandability is standard and opens up a world of options not found with any other amplifier line. For example, Crown's IQ PIP-USP2 module provides the Com-Tech Series with stand-alone intelligence offering digital signal processing (filters and delay), energy conservation, speaker and listener protection, and much more. The P.I.P.-ISO, utilizes a UL listed 1500-volt input transformer which provides complete input/output isolation for maximum safety.

Com-Tech amplifiers also provide vital operating information at a glance with a complete array of indicators on the front panel. These indicators make it quick and easy to verify the proper operation of the amp. Indicators include ODEP, signal presence and IOC. Controls are located on the back panel to prevent tampering.

Reliability is guaranteed with Crown's superior grounded bridge circuitry with ODEP protection, convection cooling and a three speed "on-demand" fan assist which runs only when required.

All Com-Tech amplifiers are UL listed for USA and Canada commercial audio applications.

Input Impedance: Nominally 20 K ohms balanced and 10 K ohms unbalanced.

Controls: Enable, channel 1 and 2 detented level controls, dual/mono switch (Dual, Bridge-Mono, Parallel-Mono), output mode (8/4-ohm, 70 volt), input sensitivity switch (0.775 V for 70 volt mode or 0.775 V for 8/4 ohm mode for full output or a 26 dB voltage gain.

Harmonic Distortion (THD): Less than 0.05% from 20 Hz to 1 kHz and increasing linearly to 0.1% at 20 kHz delivering rated power into 8 ohms/channel.

Intermodulation Distortion (IMD): (60 Hz and 7 kHz 4:1) Less than 0.05% from less than 10 milliwatts to full rated power into 8 ohms/channel at 26 dB gain.

Load Impedance: Rated for 4 to 8 ohms in Dual, 8 to 16 ohms in Bridge-Mono and 2 to 4 ohms in Parallel-Mono mode. Appropriate loads vary widely in 70 volt mode. Safe with all types of loads.
